Field Notes is back!
Plus: big updates coming to the Society of Working Moms community! 💅
Welcome back to Field Notes, your 3-minute companion to working motherhood. We took a little hiatus over the last several months due to my own life circumstances (a new[ish] baby! wildfire evacuation! start of Kindergarten for my eldest) but I’m excited to get back into it as we find our new rhythm.
But first… a few updates about the paid community…

We’ve gone Pro!
Members now enjoy features like a full searchable archive, a virtual co-working lounge, AI channel recaps for quick catch-ups, and access to guest experts via our new and improved Ask The Expert sessions!Dues are increasing 10/1.
Quarterly memberships will go from $75 to $90 and annual memberships will go from $290 to $330. (What doesn’t change is our 30-day money-back guarantee. If you join and don’t like it we’ll refund you, no questions asked.)Next month is our member drive!
If you’re NOT yet a member, come be our boo! 👻 (Join now to lock in your first year at the current rate!) And if you ARE a member, join the “boo-crew” and get in on the fun!
In short, there’s never been a better time to join SOWM!

A GOODIE FOR YOU — This strappy one piece swimsuit that is under $20
(Kate T. notes that this is the first swimsuit postpartum she’s actually felt good in!)
A GOODIE FOR THEM — This sensory “pop the target” toy
(Natalia G. recommended this as a screen-free and well liked alternative to a tablet.)
A RESOURCE — This 100 easy dinners collection from NYT Cooking
(Because, as Barbara P. says, “feeding people is hard work!”)
A RECIPE — These sheet pan quesadillas (20 minutes total)
(Pro tip from Anna W.S.: make double and freeze half for later.)
A SUBSCRIPTION — This best-bet-in-the-age-of-recalls meat delivery service
(Vix R. and her nugget love the gluten-free chicken nuggets!)
P.s.: These recs are all sourced from inside the paid community…
just a tiny fraction of the collective wisdom shared there on the daily. 💅

In honor of National Working Parents Day last week, what's one thing you wish your pre-working-self knew?
It’s your life and you can approach all facets of work and life different than how other people would.
I wish college Natalia knew it's ok not to have a 5/10/15 year plan!
What was important to you may change drastically after you have a baby.
Working hard doesn't lead to being valued or appreciated… nobody considers your best interests, so you have to look out for yourself.
It's OK for your career path to not be a straight line.

Please do come check it out! Use code DEMI15 for $15 off. 🫶

Did a friend forward this to you?
(What a gem!)

We hope to see you soon, either at an upcoming event or inside Slack!
